LOVE AT FIRST SITE: FASHION AND HIP HOP

We all feel like we know Tupac personally. He said what he meant and meant what he said. Before Snapchat and Instagram could show everyone what you did, 2pac was the first rapper to be on the fashion scene. We aren't talking Adidas and Jordan's we are talking Versace. If you are wondering why rappers are Versace crazed then you have 2pac to blame. Way before 2chainz was on the scene 2pac was the man with Versace everything. While hip-hop culture embraced in urban gear, Tupac had an eye for quality Italian fabrics and jewelry. The music & fashion bridge is obvious today but back then it wasn't so common. Seems as if  Tupac was the very first to make the impact which opens the gate for artists like Kanye West & ASAP Rocky who are huge fashion fans. Looks like we can thank 2pac for more than just his rhymes.

Pac was close friends with the late great Gianni Versace, so close that he even walked in the Versace runway show during Milan Fashionweek in 1996. 2Pac was the first rapper to walk in a luxury runway show haha how cool is that? Thank you for integrating hip-hop culture and luxury fashion! We all appreciate it! *emoji praying hands* lol

BMW i8 Louis Vuitton Collection

If you're looking to buy a BMW i8 then you almost have to buy the Louis Vuitton collection to go along with. Louie Vuitton created a four piece set of suitcases and bags that are exclusively tailored to the new BMW i8. Crafted in carbon fiber, all four bags fit & stack down to the last millimeter in areas of the car. How cool is that? Louis Vuitton & BMW what a superior partnership.

Believe in YOU!

You are powerful! Yes you! The man (woman) in the mirror. Think about it, we get so caught up in time today that we forget how amazing we as humans really are. Take yourself out of the earth for a second and become an alien. Now look at the world in fast forward from the beginning of time. We've done so many amazing things in adaption to the world given to us. We created roads miles and miles long to accommodate transportation. We put gigantic holes into mountains to create tunnels. We bent metal to create cars and aircrafts. We discovered what drugs and chemicals heal our bodies. We tamed nature to create neighborhoods and homes. Most of all, we created technology which ables us to communicate with the entire world. To someone or something out of this earth that is all pretty awesome!

Every-time something great happens in the world remember that you are apart of that too. You are human. We get caught up in competition with race and culture, we forget to honor each other as a species. There is power within us to create and help the people today as well as generations to come. We were put here to create, and everyone has a unique piece of creation within them. Remember reality isn't real, if you asked someone in the early 1800's if there will ever be a such thing as computers, phones or even a car with a radio, they would think you were insane. There is only one way to be & that's extremely imaginative and optimistic that anything is possible for you. Find your inspiration, find your piece of creation & become superhuman!

How the groom maybe jinx'ing his wedding!

As men when it comes to weddings we leave almost everything in the hands of our women. But it's one particular thing that bothers me about men getting married…..RENTED TUXEDOS. I’m finding it hard to understand why the groom would want to “rent” a tuxedo anyway. A tuxedo is the most respected form of dress. Every man needs at least one in his closet. Unlike the wedding dress a tuxedo isn’t the most priciest thing on earth. Men have been tricked by society to think you won’t ever wear a tux again so it's best to rent one; Which is bologna if you plan on ever going to a formal occasion.

There isn’t a more elegant way of dress for a man, than in a tuxedo. Now I’m not saying boycott Men's Wearhouse or Tuxedo Junction (Yes I am lol) but these places don’t guarantee you’ll be your flyest at your wedding. If you plan on getting married its best to get a made to measure or bespoke tuxedo. Your 'wife to be' is spending a ton of time picking out the perfect dress, you should be as serious as she is. Pay her the respect by getting a custom suit designed just to fascinate her, not a suit that a guy has already worn. That asshole may have been the worst husband ever, its best to play it safe. A rented tux maybe a jinx (you never know). Plus you get to choose your own fabric and style. Why not have a say so?

For insight, the only difference between a suit and a tuxedo jacket is the jacket lapel. The tuxedo jacket lapel is usually of satin material while the suit lapel is of the same material as the suit jacket.

Overall this means that it is okay to wear a suit in your wedding AS LONG AS IT ISNT RENTED! You will appreciate your marriage a bit more if your suit doesn’t have to be back by noon the next day. I’m also sure your groomsmen would accept a custom suit as a gift. But the choice is yours. Going custom ensures better fit, better fabric, and overall better look. Future husbands please go bespoke!!! Future wives please encourage this!!!

Sapeurs, Society of Elegant Persons of the Congo

A good friend introduced me to a video that I found very interesting, inspiring, and also very cool. Guinness Beer, did a campaign featuring 'the Society of Elegant Persons of the Congo' also known as Sapeurs. These are a group of everyday men from Brazzaville, Republic of the Congo. The ad shows how these gentlemen define their lifestyle not by occupation or wealth but by respect and moral principal.

This ad should shows how style connects us all no matter your location in the world. Through dress we get to individually express ourselves. "It's not the fabric or cost of the suit that counts, it is the worth of the man inside it." Check out the video below, be inspired from dentist to construction worker, to plumber to lawyer, we all come together and define ourselves as respectable men or in this case Sapeurs. These Stylish men were also featured in Beyonce's sister Solange hit single "Losing You" Take notes from these elegant African men.

5 Steps to a better Social Media Life!

We all love our social media but we all have those moments when we feel like we are dealing with too much. What causes this feeling of tiredness? After all "its just social media". I tell you what it is, Neuroscience (psychology of the brain)! Everything that we see, hear, or read becomes apart of us. According to the book 'Evolve Your Brain' by Joe Dispenza, "The thoughts that produce the chemicals in the brain allow your body to feel exactly the way you were just thinking...the way people think directly impacts their health and their lives." We can instantly see something on Instagram that will piss us off and literally make us want to delete it cause we hate the feeling of no control. I am here to tell you we have control! Here are 5 guidelines to maintain control of your life in social media.

1. YOUR PRIVATE LIFE STILL EXISTS

Information is so easily shared today which is great for most purposes but not so much for all. A huge thing that technology X's out is our private life. Your private life is not something you're hiding, ashamed of, or keeping secret, its YOUR private life, you own it. Your business belongs to you, be very selective of what you choose to share via internet, it can all come back to burn you. Everything you do or see doesn't have to be shared. For example: Never let a significant other tell you "you don't love me because you don't post pics of us on Instagram" biggest bullshit ever. Why? Because I love my grandparents soooooooooooo much, more than any woman I've ever dated but guess what THEY AREN'T ON MY INSTAGRAM. They belong to my personal/ private life. My love for them is greater than any post and trust me my grandmother doesn't care if she's on my Instagram she just wants me to visit. Social media shouldn't dictate your relationship. Just know that true substance does exist and it doesn't start with a Facebook status or an IG pic with heart emogis. Plus if you break up with your partner whom you've taken Instagram pictures with people who know nothing about your relationship have an opinion, don't give them one. Your girl/ guy your business :)

2. MORE FOLLOWERS DOESN'T MEAN YOU OR THEY ARE BETTER

Having a ton of followers is amazing but you shouldn't feel less of a person for not having as many followers as others. Focus on engaging the audience you already have. After all, having followers doesn't necessarily mean you are successful. For example, I know a few very beautiful women with over 10,000 followers but no disrespect to them they are beautiful but successful maybe no so much. Fashion Designer Tracy Reeese who's dresses are mainly worn by Michelle Obama only as roughly 7900 followers I'm sure she's not upset that pretty girls that work at the mall have more followers than her. Let your work determine how successful you are not how many followers you have. Oh and by the way NEVER BUY FOLLOWERS there's honestly no point because the number will exist not the people you can only fool yourself.

3. FOLLOW WHO YOU WANT TO BE LEAD BY

We follow friends and family because we kind of have to right? WRONG! Not all of our friends/ family are the best leaders. We all have those people we follow by default because if you unfollow them then they feel like there is a problem between the two of you. To improve your social media experience unfollow those people who are posting non engaging or negative content. Remember everything you see and think effects your body. Therefore if you are following brands or people who inspire you then you'll be more uplifted rather than seeing your cousin talk about sex on Twitter all day.

4. FOLLOW YOURSELF

There should not be a profile you look at more than your own. You have to understand that you, yourself are a brand. Brand yourself, view yourself as if you're outside looking in, then ask yourself "Am I inspiring?" The number one person who needs to be inspired by your work is you. You are your best and worst critic. Having control means that you know exactly how to engage your audience and you are happy with your posts. Show the world what you love and how much you love yourself. Looking at your profile is like looking in the mirror in the morning, you want to make sure your image is clean at all times, you can't judge yourself by looking at other people.

5. GIVE IT A BREAK

Make time for your real life. Read a book, go to the gym, go to a museum. Enjoy life without your cell phone for a day. We have a tendency to get buried in our phones and not even notice hours have gone by. Don't let your social media life be more real than your real life. I say this because I've met some cool people via internet and online they seem to have the coolest personality but in person they are super dry and lack true personality. Trust me you'd rather be cool in real life than online.

These 5 guidelines should help improve your social media experience. Have a real life, putting your entire life on social media honestly gives you little to talk about when people meet you in person. You don't want people to have you "figured out". Remain mystique you are more valuable that way. Comment for views, thoughts, or questions or you can even shoot me an email at info@javonearmada.com.
